Thacker Mountain converges on Lyric Theater tonight

OXFORD TOWN – Thacker Mountain Radio will perform a special fundraising show on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. at the Lyric Theater on the Oxford Square. Musician Jimbo Mathus (pictured here) will lead the Thacker Mountain house band, the Yalobushwhackers, and welcome a wide array of Oxford area talent including Silas Reed IV, Bill “Howlin Madd” Perry, Effie Burt, Jake Fussell, Jamie and Rosamond Posey, Casey Lipe, authors Jack Pendarvis and Theresa Starkey, Square Books owner Richard Howorth and TMR host Jim Dees. UM hosts 18th Annual Conference for the Book this weekend

OXFORD TOWN – Oxford’s 18th Annual Conference for the Book begins today (Thursday, March 24) on the Ole Miss campus featuring Karen Russell (pictured) and many other renowned authors. The conference collaborates with Thacker Mountain Radio at Off Square Books tonight and lasts through Saturday, March 26. Dean Faulkner Wells releases memoir

OXFORD TOWN – Local author Dean Faulkner Wells releases and signs her memoir about growing up Faulkner titled “Every Day By The Sun” on Saturday, March 19, at the Lyric Theater. Authors Franklin, Pendarvis, Durkee, Thompson and others are scheduled read from the book. Thacker Mountain Radio wraps season at Lyric Theater with packed lineup

OXFORD TOWN – Thacker Mountain Radio completes a bustling 2010 season tonight (Thursday, Nov. 18) at the Lyric Theater featuring authors Jesmyn Ward and Jack Pendarvis (pictured),  musical guests Sam Mosley, The Hot Seats and the Thacker Mountain house band, The Yalobushwhackers.
