WR Logan has something to prove

Ole Miss junior wide receiver Ja-Mes Logan said he and the rest of the team’s receivers have something to prove heading into the 2011 season. Ole Miss WR Logan enjoying new role as leader

Football practice has become more enjoyable for Ole Miss sophomore wide receiver Ja-Mes Logan this spring. A year after the 6-foot-2 Natchez native got his feet wet playing in a reserve role at wide receiver, Logan has become one of the two main leaders for a group that is currently short on overall experience. Rebels show pro, cons in first scrimmage

Saturday’s scrimmage at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium provided a mixed bag of results for the Ole Miss coaching staff to build on.

There was the good: Randall Mackey showed consistency passing the ball, the defense provided a constant presence in the offensive backfield, the tight ends looked like reliable targets, head coach Houston Nutt said he liked the attitudes he saw from the defense and incumbent kicker Bryson Rose connected on all four field goals from 40 yards and beyond.
