Rebels rout Pitt to win BBVA Compass Bowl
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Ole Miss’ dramatic turnaround on the gridiron in Hugh Freeze’s first season was punctuated with an impressive, record-setting win in the annual BBVA Compass Bowl Saturday. Led by quarterback Bo Wallace, this year’s Fred Sington MVP winner, on offense and linebacker Mike Marry on defense, the Rebels defeated Pittsburgh 38-17 in front of a new bowl record crowd of 59,135 at Legion Field. BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Ole Miss’ first year under Hugh Freeze has now concluded. The journey, as Freeze has called his rebuilding project, went well, very well the way most people think. There wasn’t a lot to be excited about when Freeze was hired.
