BETTY SUE REYNOLDS LIPSEY – 73, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at the Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Burial will follow in the Malone Cemetery in Lexington. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

JOHN ALBERT RICE JR. – 92, formerly of Columbus, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at Azalea Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Oxford. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus, with the Very Rev. James F. Carlyle officiating.

JACQUELINE REEH SMITH – 68, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. Arrangements are incomplete with Waller Funeral Home.

GRADY “PETE” MATHIS BROWNING JR. – 73, died Satuday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at North Oxford Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in North Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home and again prior to the service from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

LILLIE “SEAL” CROWLEY – 53, caregiver, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at her residence in Oxford. Visitation will be today from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at East St. Peter’s M.B. Church in Abbeville with the Rev. William Woods officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery. LUKE “TODDY” CLIFTON LEE HYLAND – 64, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, in Batesville. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2011, at Tutor Memorial with the Rev. Joey Swords officiating. Burial followed at County Line Baptist Church in Pontotoc. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Oxford was in charge of the arrangements.

MICHAEL CARL LADD – 53, of Como, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at his home. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Jan. 2, at 1 p.m. at Davis Chapel United Methodist Church in Sardis with the Rev. Dayna Goff officiating. Interment followed in Davis Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Home of Batesville.

NANCY BRACKEN LOVE — 65, of Madison died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at St. Dominic‘s Hospital. Funeral services were held at Grace Episcopal Church on East Peace Street in Canton today. Burial and a graveside service will be held at a later date in Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Md. Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland is assisting with arrangements.

MARGARET ANN RUSSELL PARTRIDGE – 76,, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Graceland Care Center in Oxford. A memorial service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Semmes officiating. Burial will follow in Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from noon until 2 p.m. at the church. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

WILLIAM DAVID “SPRAD” SPRADLIN – 59, of Pendleton, Ind. and formerly of Gilboa, Ind. died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at Meadowbrooke Rehabilitation in Anderson, Ind. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home in Leipsic with Pastor Tad Finch officiating. Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery in Gilboa with military rites by the Ottawa American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to service on Tuesday.

JUANITA “NOUNCE” VAUGHN – 67, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at her residence in Oxford. Funeral service arrangements will be announced later by Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home.

DARRELL WAYNE CHAMBERS – 35, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at the Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Antioch M.B. Church in Courtland, with the Rev. Reginald Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held until 6 this evening at Cooley’s Mortuary.

W.C. HILL – 71, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Union Hill MB Church with Rev. Porchia McGlown officiating. BETTIE BUSBY – 71, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at her daughter’s home in Plantersville. Services were held Monday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with Brother Ricky Pierce and Brother Jed Daniels officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Baptist Church cemetery.

JACOB PRICE JR. – 54, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at his residence in Oxford. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Tallahatchie Oxford Missionary Baptist Association Building with the Rev. Alice Blackmon officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. WILLIAM TRAVIS “BILLY” RUTLEDGE – 88, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at his home in Oxford. Services were held at 1 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel in Booneville, with Bro. Bobby Hankins officiating. Burial was to follow in Booneville Cemetery.

HATTIE MAE SNEED – 88, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Church of the Nazarene in the Hurricane Community, with the Rev. Joe Morse and the Rev. Cecil Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Nazarene Cemetery. AMY DELL HOLLOWELL SPENCER – 97, retired employee of the B & I Complex in Oxford and the Oxford High School Cafeteria, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at her son’s home in Oxford. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Anchor Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Shook officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Flat Cemetery. DEBORAH JO WHITE – 58, of Cullman, Ala. and originally from north Mississippi, died on June 24, 2010. A celebration of her life was held on June 27, 2010, at Spirit Life Church of God, where she served as secretary for eight years.
