Chargers continue to win in 2-5A baseball

OHS continues to play well at right time

A fourth straight victory in Division 2-5A play for the Oxford Chargers Tuesday evening came in the form of a 10-0 shutout of West Point at Edwin Moak Field.

The Chargers remained in first place in the standings by taking advantage of mistakes made by the Green Wave in the field, some timely hitting and some key pitches made by Hunter Roth. (April 3, 2013, Page 8)

Oxford draws even with Trojans

Oxford’s Chargers received an early Easter present in the form of a 7-6 come-from-behind win over New Hope Wednesday night at Edwin Moak Field. One night after defeating Saltillo 10-0, the Chargers improved to 2-1 in Division 2-5A play with the gritty win over the Trojans, a team that shut the Chargers out just two weeks ago. Chargers blast Saltillo to win 2-5A contest

Chargers rally past Horn Lake

LHS rallies to top Chargers in 8th

Patrick Robey’s first Crosstown Classic baseball game didn’t need to involve an extra inning. Thankfully for the first-year Lafayette head coach, his Commodores made him feel better about the rivalry game thanks to a 6-5 win over Oxford Friday night at W.V. Brewer Field. (March 11, 2013, Page 2B)

Chargers overcome cold to finish 3-0 in Amory

Cold winter weather wasn’t enough to slow down the Oxford baseball from winning three games in the Amory Tournament. The Chargers improved to 5-1 on the season thanks to three wins in the tournament. Oxford defeated Tupelo 6-4 Friday night and then defeated East Union 4-2 and Itawamba AHS 5-4 on Saturday.

Chargers hold on to top North Pontotoc

Two postponed dates in the Pontotoc Tournament weren’t enough to deter the Oxford Chargers from earning their second win of the 2013 season Wednesday. The Chargers jumped out to a 3-0 lead on North Pontotoc in the first inning and then broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the seventh en route to a 5-4 win over the Vikings at Pontotoc High. OHS Chargers changing on the fly

Chris Baughman was thrown a looping curveball recently when senior Parker Adamson announced his decision to skip baseball season to focus on his future as a Southern Miss quarterback.
