This was the week back in 1941 that stunned Oxonians when they heard the news that Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor. It was also the week over the last several decades when the community get ready to launch the Crimestoppers program and the Oxford Medical Ministries Clinic. (December 10, 2014, Page 1A)

Shaw named Citizen of the Year

The Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce held its annual dinner Tuesday night at the Oxford Conference Center. For their service to the LOU community, Dr. Jean Shaw was recognized as Citizen of the Year and Lynn Wells was presented the Outstanding Service Award. (June 8, 2011, Page 1A)
