Ferbia Allen

Mackey, Allen make most of senior seasons

Ole Miss running back/receiver Randall Mackey and tight end Ferbia Allen have had positive senior seasons under new head coach Hugh Freeze with both earning their degrees as well as contributing to the Rebels’ success on the field. (January 4, 2013, Page 6A)

Freeze likes energy in first bowl practice

Ole Miss returned to the practice field as a full football team Monday morning in the Indoor Practice Facility with a workout geared toward the future as well as the Rebels’ upcoming contest with Pittsburgh in the BBVA Compass Bowl.
Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said he liked the energy he saw from his team in their return to practice, the first as a team since before the Rebels defeated Mississippi State 41-24 in the Egg Bowl on Nov. 24. (December 18, 2012, Page 8)

Injured OM Rebels head to No. 8 LSU

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze has had a lot on his mind this week. From trying to figure how to slow down an LSU offense that has become more balanced the last two weeks to figuring out which of his injured players would even make the trip to Tiger Stadium and Baton Rouge, La., Freeze has had to balance a lot in a short amount of time. The Rebels (5-5 overall, 2-4 Southeastern Conference) are banged up heading into Saturday’s contest against No. 8 LSU (8-2, 4-2). Vanderbilt’s 27-26 victory last week at Vaught-Hemingway did more than just hurt the team’s heart, it also physically hurt the Rebels. (November 16, 2012, Page 6A)

Rebels face another tough test at No. 8 LSU

The Ole Miss Rebels squandered a prime opportunity Saturday to put a cherry on what’s been a mostly surprising season by earning win No. 6.
Instead, the Rebels (5-5 overall, 2-4, Southeastern Conference) must now turn its attention to No. 8 LSU in the hopes of gaining bowl eligibility. (November 13, 2012, Page 6)

Rebels struggle with production in practice

Hugh Freeze seemed to feel more like a dentist than he did Ole Miss’ first-year head football coach Tuesday morning. Shortly after his Rebels went through their first practice outside this week and first since a second two-a-day practice session on Monday, Freeze made the comment that Tuesday’s drills felt more like pulling teeth than anything else. (August 15, 2012, Page 6)

Rebels ready to move on, focus on LT

The Ole Miss football players were not afforded a day to mourn or get their emotions in check following Monday’s news that head coach Houston Nutt would not be retained.

Tuesday the Rebels were back at it, on the practice field preparing for this weekend’s homecoming game against Louisiana Tech. (November 9, 2011, Page 8)

Brassell available against Louisiana Tech

BLOG: As if Monday’s news wasn’t enough to handle, there were rumors floating around throughout today that Ole Miss standout freshman receiver/cornerback Nickolas Brassell would not be available this weekend against Louisiana Tech.

Ole Miss a second chance for tight end Jamal Mosley

A second chance at making an impact at the Division I level is what junior tight end Jamal Mosley is hoping to do now as a member of the Ole Miss Rebels. After starting his career out of Memphis at Oklahoma State, and playing last season at Northwest Mississippi Community College, Mosley is more focused on being the best tight end he can possibly be. (August 19, 2011, Page 8A)
