Family Crisis Services of Northwest Mississippi Inc. is sponsoring a campaign Tuesday to raise awareness of sexual assault. The annual “Jeans for Justice Day” is part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month’s Day of Action. “Jeans for Justice Day” was designed to allow local businesses, schools, and organizations to get involved in the fight to stop sexual violence.
For a donation of $5 or more, by each participating employees or members, they may “buy” the right to wear jeans to work on Tuesday as a way to recognize rape survivors, as well as other victims of crime, in the community. The donations help support the services and programs provided by Family Crisis Services of Northwest Mississippi. For more information, call 234-9929. (April 14, 2010)
