For a half of Saturday’s home opener against Southeast Missouri, the No. 25 Ole Miss Rebels looked like a team that could have easily covered the 52-point spread oddsmakers made them. But for the other half of the Rebels’ 31-13 win in front of a crowd of 60,815 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, they struggled to move the ball and give the same kind of effort they did early with the second- and third-team units in the lineup. A year after not having to deal with many serious or season-ending injuries, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze is going to have to figure a way to adapt to losing two starters. Sophomore linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche and junior offensive guard Aaron Morris were both injured against Vanderbilt in the season opener last week.
