NASCAR driver Stenhouse Jr. makes pit stop at Ole Miss’ practice

NASCAR Sprint Cup driver, and friend of head coach Hugh Freeze, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. visited the campus of Ole Miss Tuesday to talk to several student groups about the upcoming Talladega races in October. Bo Wallace is confident in his healthy throwing shoulder. Maybe too confident. Last week’s season opener against Boise State was the Ole Miss senior quarterback’s first chance to display the renewed strength in his arm thanks to a shoulder that’s finally back to 100 percent following a separation suffered during the 2012 season. The Ole Miss football team started game week with an indoor practice Monday night. It was a light workout as the players didn’t use shoulder pads. Nkemdiche, Tunsil land on preseason watch lists

The preseason honors are flooding in for Ole Miss football players this week.
On Thursday, sophomore defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche was named to preseason watch lists for both the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Outland Trophy, senior safety Cody Prewitt made the Nagurski list, and sophomore offensive tackle Laremy  Tunsil made the Outland list. (July 11, 2014, Page 6A)

Rebels’ Engram named to Mackey watch list

NEW YORK — Ole Miss sophomore Evan Engram is one of 38 players that have been named to the preseason watch list for the 2014 John Mackey Award, which is given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end. (July 9, 2014, Page 6)
