A cash prize of $2,000 will be on the line to win for high school football teams competing in the inaugural Mississippi Invitational in Tupelo. There was a different level of confidence displayed by the Oxford Chargers on the Ole Miss Golf Course Thursday. Oxford’s goal of repeating as MHSAA Class 5A state champions in boys golf began with a promising start Monday at the Ole Miss Golf Course. The Chargers won the District 2-5A tournament with a final score of 326, 16 strokes better than Hernando’s 342. Center Hill was third in the meet with a 364. All three teams qualified to compete in next month’s 5A state tournament, which will be hosted at Ole Miss.
