Charger golfers grind it out to make state

A preseason goal of the Oxford boys golf team was obtained Tuesday at the Country Club of Oxford. The Chargers shot a 354 as a team in the District 2-5A Tournament, advancing to the Class 5A state tournament next month in Tupelo.

Saltillo won the match with a 339, while New Hope was second with a 347. Hernando just missed making it to Tupelo with a 358, while Lake Cormorant and West Point rounded out the team scores with a 466 and 454 respectively. (April 21, 2010, Page 9)
