Oxford hoops sweep New Hope
The Chargers and Lady Chargers opened District 1-5A play on a good note with a sweep of New Hope on the road Friday night. The Chargers beat New Hope 81-61 thanks to 32 points from Justin Fondren. Oxford splits pair with Grenada

Oxford splits doubleheader with Baldwyn
A new year for the Oxford Lady Chargers basketball squad brought with it an even greater emphasis on playing team ball and yet another victory inspired by unselfish play. Oxford’s girls continued to show balance on offense and defense Monday night by posting a 62-36 win over Baldwyn in the OHS gym. The victory improved the Lady Chargers to 13-1 heading into tonight’s game at Grenada, the only team to have defeated the Lady Chargers this year.

OHS teams split pair in ‘O’ Town opener
Early leads played big roles in the Chargers’ and Lady Chargers’ games on Day 1 of the “O” Town Showdown on Wednesday in the Oxford High gym.
While the Lady Chargers were able to turn an early 13-point lead into a 59-45 victory over Hernando, the Oxford boys weren’t as lucky, falling behind by 12 points in the first quarter before eventually losing to Shannon 76-60. (December 30, 2010, Page 6A)
Oxford boys top Grenada

OHS girls remain perfect

Oxford sweeps Coldwater
A balanced scoring ledger for both the Oxford Chargers and Lady Chargers basketball squads ended up leading to home wins over Coldwater Thursday night. Oxford’s boys defeated Coldwater 83-55 to improve to 5-1 on the year, while the Lady Chargers played another great team game in a 68-63 win. (November 19, 2010, Page 7A)
Oxford earns sweep of Senatobia
Oxford fans at the OHS gym on Tuesday saw two very different games from the Chargers and Lady Chargers against Senatobia.
While both squads won, it was the boys that claimed a run-away 74-57 victory, while the girls had to hold on and knock down free throws at the end to claim a 48-41 win. (November 17, 2010, Page 6)
Oxford teams earn two wins on Saturday
The Oxford boys overcame a nine-point deficit at the half to post a 78-75 win over Pillow Academy in the Oxford Classic held in the OHS gym.
In the other games from the one-day tournament, Ripley defeated Magnolia Heights 71-47, Marshall Academy beat Lewisburg 61-31, Hernando topped Jackson Prep 64-62 in overtime, while Madison Ridgeland Academy beat Pontotoc 51-46. In the lone girls game from the tournament, the Oxford Lady Chargers beat Jackson Prep 67-43. (November 15, 2010, Page 6B)
Oxford teams sweep Potts Camp
A team-first attitude for the Oxford Lady Chargers and Chargers proved to be the difference in two wins over Potts Camp in the season openers for both teams Monday night in the OHS gym.
Oxford’s girls opened the season with a one-sided 78-36 win over the Lady Cardinals, while the Chargers followed the girls lead in the nightcap as they rolled to a 90-49 win. (November 9, 2010, Page 8)
