Lies and Other Truths: Jim Dees remembers Levon

OXFORD TOWN – Oxford Town columnist Jim Dees pays a moving tribute to the late Levon Helm – from his days with the Hawks to his migration to The Band to his casual solo career in a live setting in his “studio/barn” to his untimely death (losing a battle to cancer last month). Mavis Staples honored him at Oxford’s Double Decker Festival two weekends ago, and Dees takes the reins this week, remembering the great musician. Rooster’s to host genuine Memphis blues this Saturday
