Oxford Music Festival spotlight continues

OXFORD TOWN – OT’s breakdown of Oxford Music Festival 2012 rolls on this week (Issue No. 962) as we spotlight the bands and acts set for Friday, Feb. 10, at the Malco Studio Cinema VIP Tent, Lyric Theater’s Electro Stage and Proud Larry’s on the Oxford Square. This week, our spotlight illuminates one of the most diverse music- and movie-oriented nights that Oxford has seen in quite some time. Featured bands include Silas Reed ’N Da Books, Kelley and The G-Men, Break-beat, The Minor Adjustments (pictured here), The Congress, Proud Larry’s headliner Shooting Out The Lights and others. Oxford Music Festival reloads

OXFORD TOWN – Oxford Music Festival organizers Daniel Morrow, Tim Burkhead (pictured here), Nathan Robbins and Caroline Hourin recently released the lineup for the 2012 version of one of Oxford’s favorite hometown festivals, Oxford Music Fest. Set to reload Feb. 9 at the Lyric Theater, Proud Larry’s and the Malco Studio Cinema, OMF is teaming up with the Oxford Film Festival to bring us another amazing weekend of music, movies and mayhem featuring tons of local talent. Jimbo Mathus – At it again

OXFORD TOWN – Mississippi native Jimbo Mathus is bringing “catfish music” home after a successful East Coast tour this summer promoting his latest album, “Confederate Buddha.” Mathus and his band, The Tri-State Coalition, are set for Rooster’s Blues House tonight (Thursay, Aug. 11). Oxford Town columnist George Atkins sat down and chatted with the Grammy winner about the show, his new album and the Coalition. The Minor Adjustments

OXFORD TOWN – The Minor Adjustments may be a new name to the Oxford music scene, but its members definitely are not. Members of this awesome new “project” in town hail from other acts including Mayhem String Band, Daybreakdown, Shady Deal, Good Paper, Tate Moore and the Cosmic Door, Jimbo Mathus and the Tri-State Coalition and others.
