Lady ‘Dores complete season sweep of Oxford

The offense had been lacking for the Lafayette High softball team in recent games. On Friday night, the Commodores found it as they completed the season sweep of crosstown rival Oxford in a 19-0 victory in 3.5 innings at the LHS softball field. (April 12, 2015, Page 2B)

Lady Commodores fall to Lewisburg in six innings

The Lafayette High baseball team took a break from Divison 2-4A play and welcomed 5A’s Lewisburg to the LHS Softball Field Tuesday night.  Lewisburg made itself feel right at home as the Patriots routed the Commodores 16-3 in six innings. (April 8, 2015, Page 2B)

Lady ‘Dores run rule Water Valley

WATER VALLEY — After playing Oxford on Thursday night the Lafayette High softball team turned their sights the other area team in Water Valley. Much like their game against the Chargers 24 hours earlier it was an offensive explosion for the Commodores who defeated Water Valley 18-9 at Lady Devil Field on Friday afternoon in their second five-inning game in as many days. (March 29, 2015, Page 2B)

LHS routs crosstown rival Chargers, 16-4

The Oxford and Lafayette High softball teams met for the second time this season and the outcome was very similar to the first meeting.  Poor defense by the Chargers paired with the hot bats of the Commodores led to a 16-4 win for Lafayette in five innings at the Oxford High softball field Thursday evening. (March 27, 2015, Page 2B)

Lafayette gets best of OHS in Oxford Classic

To kickoff the beginning of softball season Oxford and Lafayette played each other in the final game of the Oxford Softball Classic Saturday afternoon. Lafayette came away the victors with a 10-2 win in three innings at the Oxford softball field. (March 1, 2015, Page 4B)

SOFTBALL PREVIEW: ‘Dores looking to build on historic campaign

Last season, the Lafayette High softball team was two games away from playing for a state championship until it ran into a Houston team that swept the Commodores in the North Half series. The Commodores want to get back there this year and get further, but that could be easier said than done as they lost a good portion of their lineup due to graduation, including ace pitcher Avery McCullough and her battery mate, Rae Drewery. (February 24, 2015, Page 6)

‘Dores finish off season sweep of WVHS

WATER VALLEY – Lafayette’s volleyball team picked up the pace against Water Valley. It helped the Commodores pick up another region victory Tuesday night. Lady ‘Dores win region opener

Lafayette high school volleyball coach Clint Jordan wanted to see more pressure put on the opposition with a faster pace of play.
