Oxford Blues Festival reloads this weekend

OXFORD TOWN – The 2012 version of the Oxford Blues Festival reloads this weekend all around Oxford and the Oxford Square. The event kicks off at the University Museum on Friday at 4 and ends at Foxfire Ranch in Marshall County on Sunday featuring some of the hottest blues acts and musicians in the country. Health expo for those 50+ on Thursday

RSVP, Baptist Memorial Hospital and other senior organizations have come together to hold the 50+ Health and Wellness Expo from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday at the Oxford Conference Center. Featured guests include Jackson chef Luis Bruno and IRS investigator Ashley Allen who do a self-defense demonstration. Thacker Mountain converges on Lyric Theater tonight

OXFORD TOWN – Thacker Mountain Radio will perform a special fundraising show on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. at the Lyric Theater on the Oxford Square. Musician Jimbo Mathus (pictured here) will lead the Thacker Mountain house band, the Yalobushwhackers, and welcome a wide array of Oxford area talent including Silas Reed IV, Bill “Howlin Madd” Perry, Effie Burt, Jake Fussell, Jamie and Rosamond Posey, Casey Lipe, authors Jack Pendarvis and Theresa Starkey, Square Books owner Richard Howorth and TMR host Jim Dees. 2nd Annual Oxford Blues Festival launches Friday, July 21

OXFORD TOWN – The blues will heat up Oxford this weekend, featuring 25 acts from four states as the 2nd Annual Oxford Blues Festival launches at venues all over town beginning Friday, July 22. Black History Month concludes with celebration

Oxford Blues Festival kicks off Friday
