‘Dores take advantage of Rebel miscues in win

Missed assignments, general miscues and turnovers continued to plague the Ole Miss Rebels at the most important times of their 28-14 loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

The Rebels (1-2 overall, 0-1 in the Southeastern Conference) lost their second home game of the season by playing unsound football at the most critical times of the game. Instead of jumping out to an early lead in the first quarter on a wide-open pass play, the Rebels, and more specifically tight end Ferbia Allen, found a way to let the opportunity drop through their fingers.

‘Business trip’ pays off for Caldwell, Commodores

Prior to Robbie Caldwell’s postgame press conference Saturday the first-year Vanderbilt coach felt compelled to apologize for being drenched, although none was needed.

With seconds remaining in Vanderbilt’s 28-14 victory over Ole Miss on Saturday, Caldwell was doused by senior defensive tackle Adam Smotherman with a cooler full of Gatorade.
