Saturday was not the best day to get an evaluation of where the Ole Miss defense is heading into the final two weeks of preparation before the season opener Sept. 1. First-year defensive coordinator Dave Wommack wasn’t pleased with his unit following the annual Meet the Rebels scrimmage, calling the effort “flat” when describing the feel he got from the start of the scrimmage. One area that will need to remain the same if the Rebels are going to improve on their 4-8 season from a year ago, is their rushing attack.
