OHS boys powerlifting claim third straight state title

The Oxford High boys powerlifting team pulled off the three-peat. The Chargers made it back-to-back-to-back MHSAA Class 5A championships at the state meet Saturday in Jackson. Oxford finished with 44 total points as nine of the Chargers’ 10 lifters medaled in their respective weight classes. (April 19, 2015, Page 1B)

Oxford powerlifters aiming for three-peat at state meet

Oxford’s boys powerlifting team has some pieces missing from its recent state championship teams, but the Chargers are counting on their depth and experience to deliver yet another MHSAA Class 5A title. The Chargers will try to win their third straight state crown Saturday in Jackson and have the numbers to make them the favorite. Ten lifters qualified for the state meet at North Half last month, the most of any 5A team and the same number Oxford carried to Jackson last season. (April 17, 2015, Page 1B)
