Dent May

Dent May’s New Album ‘Do Things’ Gets Fun(ky)

OXFORD TOWN – The ukelele-clutching Oxonian who crooned about post-college living and all its velvety splendor has returned. Actually he never went anywhere but it’s been three years since Dent May’s first album, “The Good Feeling Music of Dent May & His Magnificent Ukelele,” caught the attention of college radio stations and major music publications nationwide. But now, he’s back in the game with a brand spankin’ new album titled “Do Things.” Turn to page 7 in Oxford Town No. 983 for a special album review of “Do Things” by former Oxford Town Editor Mitch Morgan. “This is your summer soundtrack, Oxford. Soak it up.” (June 14, 2012, Page 7)

Shannon comes ‘Home’ this Friday

OXFORD TOWN – Any true North Mississippian can identify the silhouette of Shannon McNally from, at least, a mile away. McNally and her band, Hot Sauce, are set for a show at Proud Larry’s on Friday, Dec. 30, as they help ring in 2012 with their fiery Americana and folk originals. Also at Larry’s, on Saturday, the popular venue plays host to Dent May, Flight, ILLS and Star Child for a Cats Purring New Year’s Eve jam. Check out these and other listings on Page 4 in Oxford Town’s Around Town Community Calendar. And, from all of us at The Oxford EAGLE and Oxford Town, have a safe and fabulous New Year. (December 29, 2011, Page 4)
