Choir spans gap

What began as a creative way to raise money for the restoration of the Burns Belfry has spun off an exercise in community building as an ad-hoc choir representing several local churches has been rehearsing for its part in The Worship Experience event set for Friday at the Ford Center. (April 19, 2010, Page 1A)

Concert set to fund Burns-Belfry restoration

In order to raise funds for the oldest African-American structure in Oxford, the Burns-Belfry Heritage Cultural Center, the community is invited to the Worship Experience on April 23.
The concert, to be held at the Gertrude Ford Performing Arts Center, will have the Mississippi Mass Choir headlining along with F@VoR3D, University of MS Gospel Choir, and a local choir consisting of singers from several area churches and being organized by Tom Barrett of First Baptist Church.
