Pride of the South Band hosts fundraising concert at the Ford Center

OXFORD TOWN – The Pride of the South Marching Band featuring the UM Wind Ensemble is hosting a concert fundraiser on April 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ford Center. Admission is free but donations will be accepted as this is a major fundraiser for the hardest working band in the south. Pride of the South rises at Ford Center

OXFORD TOWN – A benefit concert for the Pride of the South Marching Band featuring the UM Wind Ensemble and guest drummer Larry Gooch (pictured) is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, at the Gertrude C. Ford Center. Music is set to begin at 7:30 and admission is free. A reception to meet the student performers will be held for the general public after the concert. Pen pals meet through band trip

After being pen pals for half a century, Joan Willson of Oxford and Lynette May of Australia finally had the chance to meet one another in person when Willson travel to the Land Down Under with the Mississippi Lions All-State Band. (July 22, 2010, Page 2A)

Annual benefit concert Tuesday

OXFORD TOWN – Comprised of both the symphonic band and followed by the wind ensemble, The Pride of the South Ole Miss band will hold its annual benefit concert at the Gertrude C.
