Ole Miss a second chance for tight end Jamal Mosley
A second chance at making an impact at the Division I level is what junior tight end Jamal Mosley is hoping to do now as a member of the Ole Miss Rebels. After starting his career out of Memphis at Oklahoma State, and playing last season at Northwest Mississippi Community College, Mosley is more focused on being the best tight end he can possibly be. One of the biggest questions surrounding the Ole Miss football team heading into the 2011 season was which of the three quarterbacks on scholarship would become the starter for the season opener against BYU on Sept. 3.

Ole Miss picks up big-time Tennessee running back in I’Tavius Mathers
A comfortable feel with the campus and the football coaching staff has allowed Ole Miss to gain a verbal commitment from one of the best running backs in the nation on Monday.
Murfreesboro, Tenn., native I’Tavius Mathers (5-foot-11, 200 pounds, 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash) is a four-star running back who is rated as one of the Top 250 players in the nation by Rivals.com and arguably the top running back in the state of Tennessee for the 2012 signing class. Rebels get commitment from Missouri TE
On June 4 Austin Ray trekked south from Columbia, Mo., to Oxford to participate in one of Ole Miss’ football camps.
The 6-foot-6, 235-pound tight end impressed the coaching staff enough to garner his first offer from a FBS program.
Last weekend, Ray once again participated in an Ole Miss football camp, and after heading home for a couple of days, he verbally committed to the Rebels on Wednesday. (more…) (July 28, 2011, Page 8A)
WR Singleton gains clearance from NCAA
The last day to enroll in classes for the second summer term brought good news for the Ole Miss football team on Tuesday. WR Logan has something to prove
Ole Miss junior wide receiver Ja-Mes Logan said he and the rest of the team’s receivers have something to prove heading into the 2011 season. In a year where there is no proven No. 1 receiver for a quarterback to throw to, Logan is hoping that he can fill that role sooner rather than later for the Rebels. (June 27, 2011, Page 7)

Rebels continue to show mixed results
Heading into the second scrimmage of the spring on Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt wanted to see his team show more consistency on both sides of the ball. His hope was his wide receivers would catch throws from the quarterbacks better, the running game would be even more physical and the defense would do an even better job of flying to the football.
Nutt was able to see his offensive line open more holes for the likes of Enrique Davis and Devin Thomas to gain big chunks of yardage, and while the receivers as a group made some plays, the overall performance was still inconsistent for Nutt’s liking. (April 11, 2011, Page 2B)
