Tupelo poses a test in opener for LHS

Lafayette’s defense of its Class 4A state title begins Friday night on the road against a Class 6A team that coach Anthony Hart is expecting to be in the playoffs this year.

The Commodores, winners of 16 games in a row, travel to play the Tupelo Golden Wave in the opener, one of two games to start the year on the road. Lafayette’s schedule is tougher overall compared to the 2010 season, especially early in the non region half of things. (August 18, 2011, Page 1B)
