Rebs erase three years of frustration with win over Dogs

Three years of frustrating losses at the hands of Mississippi State came to an abrupt end for the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday night at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

In a rivalry that has been dominated by the Bulldogs in recent years, Ole Miss was able to garner a coveted sixth win by trouncing No. 25 MSU 41-24 behind five touchdowns from Bo Wallace and a strong second half from the often maligned defense.

For coach Hugh Freeze, who promised to renew passion to the rivalry when he was hired last December, the win was especially sweet because of what it meant to everyone involved with the program. (November 26, 2012, Page 1B)

Rebel fans flood field after victory

It’s been a long four years for Ole Miss fans.

From the moment Dan Mullen was hired as head coach at Mississippi State he made a point to poke and prod the Rebels and their fans.
