The Oxford Middle School Chargers used an outstanding performance in field events and a balanced showing in running events to win the annual OMS Invitational track meet Oxford High’s Bobby Holcomb Field Thursday afternoon.

Oxford’s eighth-grade Chargers gained a measure of revenge Thursday night with a 42-37 win over Grenada in the OHS gym. The seventh-graders won 34-26 after being down seven points during the contest. Oxford got its Thanksgiving break off to a good start Monday thanks to a doubleheader sweep of Olive Branch in middle school basketball action at the OHS gym.

Oxford’s middle school basketball season got off to a good start for the girls and boys swept Myrtle Tuesday night. The seventh-grade Chargers defeated Myrtle 28-11, while the eighth-graders won 37-17. Oxford’s seventh-grade Chargers won 26-7, while the eighth-grade Chargers won 25-11. Oxford Middle School completed its football season on Tuesday by splitting with the Senatobia Warriors. While the seventh grade fell to Senatobia 14-8, the eighth grade rolled to a 35-0 victory.
