Late shot lifts Trojans past OHS

NEW HOPE — If Friday’s Division 2-5A championship game had been 31 minutes long, instead of 32, the Oxford Chargers would be champions rather than the New Hope Trojans. Oxford teams advance in 2-5A Tournament

The third time this year the Oxford Lady Chargers flexed their collective muscle against an overmatched West Point girls basketball team on Tuesday. Even without two players, OHS cruised past West Point 79-37 in Game 1 of the 2-5A Tournament at New Hope High on Tuesday.
The Chargers, meanwhile, had to claw and scratch their way to Friday’s championship game by sneaking past pesky Saltillo 62-60. (February 13, 2013, Page 6)

Chargers win another 2-5A title

A rocky start to the Division 2-5A slate is all forgotten now that the Oxford Chargers have repeated as division champions. Defense not enough to give Chargers win

Offense was a problem for the OHS boys as they dropped their first two games in the Jaguar Classic in Hoover, Ala. The Chargers lost 61-37 to Vestavia Hills on Wednesday and 52-48 to Bessemer City on Thursday. (January 4, 2013, Page 8A)

Chargers ‘finish’ off New Albany
