NEW HOPE — If Friday’s Division 2-5A championship game had been 31 minutes long, instead of 32, the Oxford Chargers would be champions rather than the New Hope Trojans. Unable to score in the final 3 minutes and 23 seconds, the Chargers lost their five-point lead and ultimately the game, 45-44, to the Trojans in front of a jubilant crowd in the NHS gym. The third time this year the Oxford Lady Chargers flexed their collective muscle against an overmatched West Point girls basketball team on Tuesday. Even without two players, OHS cruised past West Point 79-37 in Game 1 of the 2-5A Tournament at New Hope High on Tuesday.

A rocky start to the Division 2-5A slate is all forgotten now that the Oxford Chargers have repeated as division champions.
