Letting go of the rope, making the (NFL) cut

Following Saturday’s debacle several of Ole Miss’ players attempted to explain the Rebels’ second-half collapse.

Running back Brandon Bolden may have said it best when he said, “Sometimes you just let go of the rope.”

At the half, the Rebels held a commanding 31-10 lead. Not only was the Ole Miss offense scoring almost at will, but the Rebel defense was thwarting its Football Championship Subdivision opponent’s best efforts to march down the field.

McCluster now a Chief; four Rebels drafted overall

Four Ole Miss players were drafted between the second and sixth rounds of the 2010 NFL Draft over the weekend. Running back/wide receiver Dexter McCluster was the first Rebel selected in the annual draft as he went to the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round, No. 36 overall. Offensive lineman John Jerry followed McCluster as he was selected in the third round (No. 73) by the Miami Dolphins. Both McCluster and Jerry were taken on Friday.
