Oxford sweeps Grenada in middle school hoops

Oxford’s eighth-grade Chargers gained a measure of revenge Thursday night with a 42-37 win over Grenada in the OHS gym. The seventh-graders won 34-26 after being down seven points during the contest. OMS boys sweep Olive Branch

Oxford got its Thanksgiving break off to a good start Monday thanks to a doubleheader sweep of Olive Branch in middle school basketball action at the OHS gym.

Oxford earns sweep of Myrtle

Oxford’s middle school basketball season got off to a good start for the girls and boys swept Myrtle Tuesday night. The seventh-grade Chargers defeated Myrtle 28-11, while the eighth-graders won 37-17. Oxford’s seventh-grade Chargers won 26-7, while the eighth-grade Chargers won 25-11. Passing, defense leads Oxford past Grenada

Precision passing and a solid defensive effort were just some of the many reasons the Oxford eighth-grade football team posted a 40-0 win over Grenada on Tuesday night at Bobby Holcomb Field. As coach Perry Swindall said following the win, the entire team played well and everybody contributed in some way in order to get the one-sided victory. (September 28, 2011, Page 8)

Skidmore’s no-hitter lifts 11-12 Phillies to victory
