NOTEBOOK: Mathers returns to Rebels’ backfield

Ole Miss’ ground game is back at full strength. Junior running back I’Tavius Mathers suffered a sprained big toe that knocked him out of the Rebels’ last game against Louisiana-Lafayette shortly after ripping off his 56-yard touchdown run, an injury Hugh Freeze feared was serious enough to possibly keep him out of this week’s game against Memphis at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. (September 23, 2014, Page 6)

NOTEBOOK: Healthy Wallace wants to ‘play within the offense’

Bo Wallace is confident in his healthy throwing shoulder. Maybe too confident. Last week’s season opener against Boise State was the Ole Miss senior quarterback’s first chance to display the renewed strength in his arm thanks to a shoulder that’s finally back to 100 percent following a separation suffered during the 2012 season. Wallace admitted it got him into trouble at times. (September 2, 2014, Page 8)

NOTEBOOK: Rebels’ Liggins getting work exclusively as tight end

Any packages that had Jeremy Liggins operating as the quarterback have been scratched from Ole Miss’ playbook. Liggins moved from quarterback to tight end at the start of fall camp, but the former Lafayette High standout was still moonlighting as a Wildcat quarterback at times. That’s no longer the case as the 6-foot-3, 296-pound Liggins continues to learn the nuances of his new position. (August 25, 2014, Page 7)

VIDEO: Rebels continue preparations for Boise St.
