OHS boys cruise to 5A North Half track title

The Oxford High boys track team continued its dominant string of victories Saturday. The Chargers won the MHSAA Class 5A North Half meet with 170 points, besting runner-up Pearl by 73.5 points and Canton, which placed third, by 74 points. Oxford has also won the Division 2-5A and Region 1-5A championship the last two weeks and will look to win its second straight state title Friday in Pearl (May 3, 2015, Page 1B, 3B)

OHS’s latest powerlifiting title ‘a special thing’

Oxford’s lifters and coach had a good idea even before the final count was tallied. Six lifters helped the Chargers pile up 28 points in the morning session of Saturday’s MHSAA Class 5A powerlifting meet in Jackson. The Oxford High boys powerlifting team pulled off the three-peat. The Chargers made it back-to-back-to-back MHSAA Class 5A championships at the state meet Saturday in Jackson. Oxford powerlifters aiming for three-peat at state meet

Oxford’s boys powerlifting team has some pieces missing from its recent state championship teams, but the Chargers are counting on their depth and experience to deliver yet another MHSAA Class 5A title. The Chargers will try to win their third straight state crown Saturday in Jackson and have the numbers to make them the favorite. Ten lifters qualified for the state meet at North Half last month, the most of any 5A team and the same number Oxford carried to Jackson last season. (April 17, 2015, Page 1B)

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. — The Oxford High School boys finished third and the OHS girls came sixth in the Houston Track Classic held Friday and Saturday at Houston High School. (April 13, 2015, Page 7)

Oxford boys, girls win EAGLE Invitational

The Oxford High track teams ran past the competition at The Oxford EAGLE Invitational on Saturday at Bobby Holcomb Field. The Chargers took the boys title with 184 points while the Lady Chargers tallied 148 points to earn the victory. The closest either of Tupelo’s teams, which both finished runner-up, came was on the boys’ side, where the Golden Wave had 117 points. (April 5, 2015, Page 2B)
