WVHS P Defer signs with NEMCC

WATER VALLEY — Skyler Defer has played all over the field for Water Valley’s baseball team the last two seasons, but the rising senior is going to the next level for one reason. Defer signed with Northeast Mississippi Community College on Thursday. He’s seen time in the outfield, at first base and on the pitcher’s mound for the Blue Devils since he joined the varsity team as a sophomore, but the Tigers want him for his arm. (January 16, 2015, Page 6)

BOONEVILLE — On the heels of Cody Greer’s performance in Game 1, Water Valley was looking for another solid outing from Game 2 starter Skyler Defer Friday night.
