With the homecoming queen set to be announced at halftime, it was clear that the Oxford Chargers didn’t want to add any extra drama to the equation Friday night at Bobby Holcomb Field. The fourth-ranked Chargers made quick work of Lewisburg, defeating the Patriots 40-9. (October 14, 2013, Page 4B)
Two players from the area — Lafayette running back D.K. Buford and Oxford kicker/punter Cody Mills — were selected to play in the 2013 Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Football Classic.
