Rebels use late surge to down Broncos

ATLANTA- As ugly as the start was for Ole Miss, the finish was just as appealing. The 18th-ranked Rebels sputtered on offense for most of the night, leaning heavily on the help of an opportunistic defense before finding a rhythm late to start the season with a 35-13 win over Boise State on Thursday in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in the Georgia Dome. (August 29, 2014, Page 1B)

NOTEBOOK: Core sparks Rebs in win over Boise State

ATLANTA- Ole Miss’ offense was sputtering for most of the night and they needed someone, anyone to give them a spark. Cody Core decided it would be him. (August 29, 2014, Page 1B)

NOTEBOOK: Rebels’ Liggins getting work exclusively as tight end

Any packages that had Jeremy Liggins operating as the quarterback have been scratched from Ole Miss’ playbook. Liggins moved from quarterback to tight end at the start of fall camp, but the former Lafayette High standout was still moonlighting as a Wildcat quarterback at times. That’s no longer the case as the 6-foot-3, 296-pound Liggins continues to learn the nuances of his new position. (August 25, 2014, Page 7)

Ole Miss WR Epps arrested over weekend in Oxford

Ole Miss freshman receiver Sammie Epps was arrested by the Oxford Police Department over the weekend.  Epps, a Greenwood native, was booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center at 11 p.m. Friday on charges of driving without a license and marijuana possession, according to jail records. He was released Saturday on bail, posted by A-1 Bail Bonds. (August 20, 2014, Page 6A)

NOTES: Offensive production depends on QB

On the surface, Ole Miss’ offense was highly productive against Southeast Missouri. How much the offense produced, though, depended greatly on who was under center. (September 9, 2013, Page 1B)

Rebels concentrate on position work

Ole Miss football coach Hugh Freeze had his Rebels concentrate on position work Wednesday as they continue preparations for next Thursday’s season opener at Vanderbilt. Freeze also talked about the health of his football team, some of the younger players and next year’s early-season schedule. (August 22, 2013, Page 6)
