Oxford resident wins American Invitational

Claudia Billups, and her horse Quick N Easy, won the American Invitational Welcome Stake Championship presented by CWD Thursday at the Thomas Equestrian Center in Tampa, Fla.

The stadium-jumping tournament win garnered $10,000 for Billups, who was able to overcome inclement weather to lead her horse through the muddy course and earn the win.

Billups also took part in the Low Amateur-Owner Jumpers while in Florida. She finished second and third, respectively, in the event. (April 9, 2012, Page 11)
