Mounting losses leave Rebs searching for answers

It’s tough to think that the basketball season for the Ole Miss Rebels is over just three games into the Southeastern Conference slate, but that’s what an 0-3 start can do to even the most positive perspectives. (more…) (January 17, 2011, Page 6)

BLOG: No. 24 Dawgs take bite out of Rebels

Thanks to an even offensive attack and a defense that never allowed Ole Miss to get into a rhythm, the No. 24 Georgia Bulldogs cruised to a 98-76 victory over the Rebels at the C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum today. (more…) (January 15, 2011)

Rebels-MSU set to tangle tonight

Ole Miss and Mississippi State may not be undefeated or ranked heading into tonight’s Southeastern Conference game at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum, but the outcome for both teams means just as much as any the two have played for in recent years.

Both the Rebels and Bulldogs are 0-1 in SEC play heading into tonight’s 8 p.m. game that can be seen on ESPN2. Neither team can afford too many losses to SEC West teams this season with the RPI being so low for all those teams on that side of the conference. For the Bulldogs, who have an RPI in the 200s, a setback tonight would make them 8-8 overall, while the Rebels are 12-4 and have an RPI in the mid 60s.

Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said it’s important to get off to a good start at home in the SEC and build momentum for Saturday’s matchup with No. 23 Georgia. (January 13, 2011, Page 6)

MSU brings factor of the unknown into Thursday’s game

Rebels get hot, rout Mustangs in process

For any Southeastern Conference opponent looking for a scouting report on Ole Miss from SMU coach Matt Doherty, they might not want to ask after what he saw Wednesday night.

Not after the Rebels shot 69.6 percent in the second half, turning a close game into a 75-57 rout. (January 6, 2011, Page 6)

Rebels learn, gain win at same time

A 68-59 win over Southeastern Louisiana wasn’t the only thing that the Ole Miss Rebels gained at C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum Sunday night. In the process of earning the win over the Lions, the Rebels (11-3 overall) continued to learn how to overcome a team that forced them to slow down offensively by limiting their shot opportunities and chances for offensive rebounds and putbacks. (January 3, 2011, Page 6)
