A final chance to watch the No. 14 Ole Miss men’s tennis team compete against the squad’s biggest rival comes Saturday afternoon at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. Ole Miss (11-6 overall, 7-3 Southeastern Conference) hosts No. 9 MSU (17-5, 8-2) in a match that will decide the SEC Western Division title as well as which team likely earns a host spot in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. A trip to Hollywood last spring wasn’t enough of a consolation prize for Ole Miss men’s tennis coach Billy Chadwick. The Rebels’ long-time coach may not have been too far from Beverly Hills on May 12, 2011, but a win over UCLA in the second round of last season’s NCAA Tournament would have been worth more than anything located on the famed Rodeo Drive. Rebel tennis tames Memphis Tigers
The Ole Miss men’s tennis team has been looking forward to the start of Southeastern Conference play for awhile, but first they had to take care of business against a much improved Memphis team.
