HOOVER, Ala. — Ole Miss’ pitching ran out Thursday.
After allowing just two runs in their previous two games combined, the bats caught up to the ninth-seeded Rebels in their 11-2 loss to top-seeded LSU.

By his own admission, Ole Miss starter Bobby Wahl just didn’t have his stuff last Friday at Kentucky.
The right-handed ace was very un-Wahl-like, walking four in four innings against the Wildcats, and said he felt like he had a “dead arm” while warming up in the bullpen.
After four innings he was pulled in favor of relief pitcher Aaron Greenwood. (April 12, 2012, Page 6)
On Feb. 29, Zach Kirksey hit a three-run homer that helped key a 13-1 romping of Jackson State.
Tuesday, Kirksey hit another three-run blast and the No. 16 Ole Miss Rebels cruised to a 12-0 victory over Jackson State at Oxford-University Stadium.
Tuesday’s game against the UT-Martin Skyhawks provided Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco with his third opportunity this season to empty his bench as the No. 14 Rebels rolled to a 20-4 victory at Oxford-University Stadium. (March 7, 2012, Page 7)
Due to the injury to sophomore Will Allen, and Taylor Hightower no longer being a member of the team, the Rebels only have freshman Austin Knight and junior college transfer Kody Sepulveda as catchers on the roster.
Overbey has been working in practice at catcher because of the dwindling numbers behind the plate, so Bianco opted to give the corner infielder some game action against UT-Martin. (March 7, 2012, Page 7)
