Rebels return home to ‘overwhelming’ turnout

Once the news was out on the Ole Miss baseball team’s official Twitter account that the Rebels would be arriving back at Swayze Field at approximately 6 p.m. on Tuesday night from Lafayette, La., third baseman Austin Anderson knew fans would show up. (June 12, 2014, Page 2B)

Former Rebels making major splashes

Loyal Ole Miss and college baseball fans may recognize a slew of former Rebels that are appearing more and more on Major League Baseball rosters and post-game highlights.

Currently, Ole Miss has seven former players on active rosters of MLB teams. (April 18, 2012, Page 9)

Bianco doesn’t expect to see Golson, Brown until January

Dual sport standouts Senquez Golson and Chief Brown took swings in the batting cage on Monday.

While Ole Miss baseball coach Mike Bianco said it was nice to see them, he cautioned not to expect to see them very often during the fall considering they have other — more timely — obligations to the football team. (September 16, 2011, Page 6A)

More than just playing for fun

COLUMN: Fans in attendance of Saturday’s 7-0 win for the current Rebel squad over the alumni team got a glimpse at what the backbone of Ole Miss’ pitching staff will likely resemble when the season opens on Feb. 18 against Wright State.
