Ole Miss’ first day in full pads proved to be another strong day for the defense as the Rebels continued to struggled with turnovers. Whether it was interceptions or miscues on snaps out of the shotgun, first-year coach Hugh Freeze wasn’t too pleased with how his offense performed in team situations following Tuesday’s morning practice. With the season opener against Jacksonville State a little less than a month away, the Ole Miss football team has wasted no time hitting the practice field and slowly but surely the Rebels are getting their newcomers onto the field. The latest addition was freshman receiver Vincent Sanders.

So today wasn’t exactly the first official day of Ole Miss football, but it’s close. OLE MISS FOOTBALL — A strong final push turned into an outstanding National Signing Day for the Ole Miss football program and Houston Nutt Wednesday. Ole Miss was able to sign some important players for the 2010 class and, in the process, vault up the national recruiting rankings.
