LHS showing improvement despite losses

MYRTLE — Taking steps and making improvements each game has been the goal of Lafayette boy’s basketball coach Nacoma James since the season started Dec. 9. Liggins runs ‘Dores into 4A North Half title game

The Lafayette High football team finds itself in familiar territory — heading to play for the Class 4A North Half title.

LHS shows its skills in O-Zone Classic

An experienced group of skill players from Lafayette showed this weekend at the O-Zone Classic why the Commodores are expected to win a second straight Class 4A state title.

Center Hill defeats Lafayette in hoops doubleheader Friday

The Lafayette basketball program had a difficult night on Friday against Center Hill.

While the Lady Commodores got caught up in a free-throw filled fourth quarter during their 52-46 loss, the Commodores were unable to match the Mustangs’ versatility in a 76-50 loss. (January 31, 2011, Page 7)

Lafayette splits district games with Lewisburg

There were more signs the Lafayette Commodores were starting to come together as a boys basketball team Friday night in a matchup with Lewisburg in the LHS gym. The Commodores may have lost 48-43 to the visiting Patriots, but instead of falling behind early and eventually losing by double digits, the Commodores showed some grit by rallying from an eight-point deficit in the in the third quarter to pull into the lead late in the fourth quarter. (December 20, 2010, Page 6)
