Bulldogs defeat ‘Dores in OT
BLOG: NEW ALBANY — New Albany’s Eathen Rainey’s 19-yard game-winning overtime field goal kicked the Lafayette Commodores out of familiar territory on Friday night at Kitchens Field.
The 10-7 setback marks the first time LHS has lost a Region 2-4A game since 2008, and the first time the ‘Dores have not had or shared the No. 1 spot in the region since that same year.

Lafayette blasts Lions on Homecoming
Lafayette’s Homecoming court wasn’t the only thing that shined Friday evening.

Return of the Mack: LHS QB earns another POW honor
It’s beginning to become a bit of a broken record, but Lafayette is positively OK with that.
During Friday’s 28-13 win at Lewisburg, LHS quarterback Brandon Mack did what has become expected of the super senior, rushing for 126 yards, passing for 115 and accounting for three touchdowns, all the while playing full-time on defense and special teams. (October 2, 2012, Page 7)
LHS thinks, runs outside the box in win
LEWISBURG — Lafayette’s overall winning streak may have ended a few weeks ago, but the Commodores still have a streak going in Region 2-4A play.
Thanks to an all-around performance from quarterback Brandon Mack and some timely stops on defense, the Commodores defeated the Patriots 28-13 to improve their winning streak in region games to 16. Facing a team that could end up being Lafayette’s toughest test in region play in the opener, Mack was able to lead the Commodores on offense by passing for two touchdowns and rushing for one to ice the game late in the fourth quarter. Bailey tackles Jaguars to earn POW honor
The Blue Devils took care of business Friday, routing the visiting J.Z. George Jaguars 61-6.
Leading Water Valley’s defensive unit was senior Q. Bailey, who racked up 15 tackles in the first half before being pulled for reserves.
Bailey’s 15 tackles in just two quarters was a rare feat that veteran defensive coordinator Richard Russo has never seen. (September 25, 2012, Page 7)

PONTOTOC — The Lafayette football team aced its first true road test of the season with flying colors last Friday night.
