Apparently Donte Moncrief didn’t get his fill on Thanksgiving.
Saturday, the Ole Miss sophomore receiver gorged himself on Mississippi State’s secondary, hauling in seven receptions for a career-high in yards (173) and touchdowns (three). (November 26, 2012, Page 1B)
Rebs erase three years of frustration with win over Dogs
Three years of frustrating losses at the hands of Mississippi State came to an abrupt end for the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday night at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
In a rivalry that has been dominated by the Bulldogs in recent years, Ole Miss was able to garner a coveted sixth win by trouncing No. 25 MSU 41-24 behind five touchdowns from Bo Wallace and a strong second half from the often maligned defense.
For coach Hugh Freeze, who promised to renew passion to the rivalry when he was hired last December, the win was especially sweet because of what it meant to everyone involved with the program. (November 26, 2012, Page 1B)

It’s been a long four years for Ole Miss fans.
From the moment Dan Mullen was hired as head coach at Mississippi State he made a point to poke and prod the Rebels and their fans. Rebels can’t out run No. 8 Tigers
BATON ROUGE, La. — There were a lot of things the Ole Miss Rebels did right in Saturday’s matchup with No. 8 LSU at Tiger Stadium. Instead of kicking field goals like they did in a one-point loss to Vanderbilt, the Rebels scored more touchdowns than any other team has all year on the vaunted LSU defense.

Ole Miss sees better results on the ground
BATON ROUGE, La — Ole Miss was able to stay in Saturday’s 41-35 loss to No. 8 LSU because of better results in the running game. While the Rebels still only averaged 3.6 yards per carry, the running game garnered 147 yards on 41 carries and would have yielded better figures in both categories if not for three sacks of quarterback Bo Wallace, who ended up leading the team with 58 yards on 11 carries.
The running game being more productive, compared to losses to Georgia and Vanderbilt, helped maintain the balance coach Hugh Freeze is seeking each game. (November 19, 2012, Page 1B)

Freeze says he has talked with SEC about late spot
During Vanderbilt’s go-ahead drive in Saturday’s 27-26 game, quarterback Jordan Rodgers looked like he converted a fourth-and-2 when he scrambled from the Commodores’ 46-yard line and then dove for the needed distance and was officially awarded 3 yards.
Following Tuesday’s practice, Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze was asked if he had heard from the league regarding the spot of the ball, which extended the Commodores’ drive and allowed them to go ahead for the first time four plays later. (November 14, 2012, Page 6)
