Bo Wallace

Bo Wallace — one of the best ever in red and blue

Publisher Tim Phillips thinks back to where Ole Miss football was before Bo Wallace came to Oxford and where it is after the Rebels reclaimed the Golden Egg by beating Mississippi State, and makes the case that Wallace is one of the best ever to play quarterback for the Rebels. (December 7, 2014, Page 4A)

OM claims Egg Bowl, knocks MSU out of playoff

Ole Miss pulled out all the stops to dash its biggest rival’s championship dreams. The 18th-ranked Rebels ripped off their longest run of the season, got a touchdown pass from a running back and shut down Mississippi State’s vaunted running game to end the regular-season with a 31-17 victory Saturday, snapping a three-game Southeastern Conference losing streak in front of 62,058 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. (November 30, 2014, Page 1B, 3B)

NOTEBOOK: Injured Wallace leads OM to win

It was the Egg Bowl. Bo Wallace was not going to miss his final game inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Bum ankle or not. The senior quarterback gutted out a solid performance, leading No. 18 Ole Miss to a 31-17 victory over No. 4 Mississippi State onSaturday. (November 30, 2014, Page 1B, 3B)

COLUMN: Rebels party — er, play — like it’s 2012 in latest Egg Bowl win

If Ole Miss’ final win of the regular season Saturday afternoon had a familiar feeling, you may be onto something. There the state’s biggest rivals were, squaring off against each other at VaughtHemingway Stadium in the latest rendition of the Egg Bowl. Mississippi State, ranked No. 4 in all the major polls — including the one that counts, the College Football Playoff rankings — was the favorite in the Rebels’ backyard against an Ole Miss team that limped into Saturday losers in each of its last three Southeastern Conference games. (November 30, 2014, Page 1B)

‘Rough’ Egg Bowl ending still fresh for Rebels a year later

Nobody’s forgotten. With Mississippi State leading Ole Miss 17-10 in last year’s Egg Bowl in Starkville, Rebel quarterback Bo Wallace looked like he was going to answer Dak Prescott’s touchdown run in overtime with one of his own to extend the game. Wallace took the snap, pulled the ball from Jaylen Walton’s belly and sprinted up the middle inside the Bulldogs’ 5-yard line on his way to the end zone. But he never got there. (November 28, 2014, Page 6A)

Rebels ‘behind Bo 100 percent’ heading into Egg Bowl

If Bo Wallace’s teammates and coaches are to be believed, Saturday can’t get here fast enough for Ole Miss’ quarterback. (November 27, 2014, Page 5)

Rebels’ Wallace, Tunsil will play against MSU

Two players critical to any kind of success Ole Miss expects to have on the football field aren’t going to let injuries keep them out against the Rebels’ biggest rival. (November 25, 2014, Page 6)

Hogs devour sloppy Rebels

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The dream is over. The weekend started with Ole Miss still having a chance, however slim it was, to represent the Western Division in next month’s Southeastern Conference Championship Game for the first time ever. But Ole Miss doesn’t have to beat Mississippi State. And forget about the Iron Bowl. None of that matters anymore. Not after No. 8 Ole Miss never gave itself a chance against Arkansas. (November 23, 2014, Page 1B)

Wallace’s bad day looms large for Rebels

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— There is a song that says, “Mama always said there’d be days like this.” Rebel quarterback Bo Wallace had one of those days in No. 8 Ole Miss’ 30-0 loss to Arkansas Saturday. Heading into the game, Wallace had only thrown one interception in Southeastern Conference play. That number jumped up to three after Wallace tossed two at Reynolds Razorback Stadium. (November 23, 2014, Page 2B)
