During Vanderbilt’s go-ahead drive in Saturday’s 27-26 game, quarterback Jordan Rodgers looked like he converted a fourth-and-2 when he scrambled from the Commodores’ 46-yard line and then dove for the needed distance and was officially awarded 3 yards.
Following Tuesday’s practice, Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze was asked if he had heard from the league regarding the spot of the ball, which extended the Commodores’ drive and allowed them to go ahead for the first time four plays later. (November 14, 2012, Page 6)
Two teams entered Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday looking to gain bowl eligibility. Until the final minute of the game, it looked like the Rebels would be the team to gain magic win No. 6. Then Ole Miss repeated its unfortunate recent history.
