Better effort can’t save Rebels in loss

The effort was there Saturday for the Ole Miss Rebels compared to their Week 3 performance against Vanderbilt. Unfortunately for them and coach Houston Nutt, the results of that improved effort weren’t enough to produce a win.

Ole Miss fell to 0-2 in the Southeastern Conference thanks to a 27-13 setback at the hands of the Georgia Bulldogs. What the crowd of 58,042 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, and a regional audience watching on the SEC Network, saw was a young Ole Miss team show more fight than it did against the Commodores, but come up short on the scoreboard because of the same miscues that have haunted them all year.
