Grads say goodbye

The graduates of Lafayette and Oxford high schools celebrated over the weekend as their journey through grade school came to a close.
Both graduation ceremonies were held at  C.M. “Tad” Coliseum on the University of Mississippi campus; Lafayette ’s was held Friday night and Oxford’s was on Saturday afternoon. (May 24, 2010, Page 1A)

Students celebrate school’s end

Oxford High School’s 200 seniors spent the day in the sun enjoying games and a cookout as a celebration of their senior year the day before final exams begin for many. School officials say the event was to do something fun for seniors, but also help cut down on school pranks. (May 12, 2010, Page 1)

Assistant principal to take reins at OHS

With Oxford High School Principal Bill Hovious’ pending retirement at the end of the school year, the current assistant principal, Mike Martin, was named Thursday as his replacement for the 2010-2011 school year. (April 30, 2010, Page 5A)

OHS honored at MSPA

Oxford High School Charger newspaper student editor Cathy Chen took home the Editor of the Year award and OHS Principal Bill Hovious was named the Administrator of the Year  at this year’s Mississippi Scholastic Press Association Awards.
