Ole Miss sweeps Vols with Sunday win

Under a veil of mist and light rain on Sunday the Rebels accomplished what they hadn’t done in weeks, close out an Southeastern Conference series with a win.

After taking the first two games of the three-game series against Tennessee, Ole Miss finished off its home schedule by claiming a 4-2 victory at Oxford-University Stadium. (May 14, 2012, Page 2B)

Rebs blast through lull, top Tennessee 7-4 in 11 innings

No. 4 LSU blasts No. 24 Rebels to win series

It appears the Rebels aren’t done searching for a Sunday starter.

After splitting the first two games against No. 4 LSU, the No. 24 Rebels turned to a new starter Sunday for the third consecutive week.

Not only did Dylan Chavez get run from the game prematurely, but Ole Miss struggled to find any pitcher who could consistently put up zeros during the 12-3 loss at Oxford-University Stadium. (May 7, 2012, Page 6)

Rebels say losses have not made them tight

Three weeks in which the Ole Miss Rebels have a chance to win a Southeastern Conference series but come up short can be draining on a team.

Nonetheless, Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco maintained that the team isn’t compounding things with any mental issues on Sundays. (May 7, 2012, Page 7)

No. 24 Rebels wash away Murray State

It was far from pretty, but the No. 24 Rebels came away from Wednesday’s non-conference game with a lopsided win.

No. 18 Rebels blow late lead to Tigers

MEMPHIS — Jacob Wilson proved to be quite the party crasher Tuesday evening.

Not only did the Memphis third baseman breakup the no-hit bid three Ole Miss pitchers had pieced together until the seventh, but Wilson put the hometown Tigers ahead for good in the following inning with a two-run homer. (more…) (April 25, 2012, Page 6)
