OF Bousfield making early impression on Rebels

Ole Miss’ regular-season opener at Texas Christian University isn’t until Feb. 17, but there’s no better time than the present to begin playing for starting jobs.

Entering the fall ball season, Ole Miss baseball coach Mike Bianco said the outfield could see a lot of change with Tanner Mathis as the lone returning starter.

Tigers rip apart Rebels in Memphis

From an Ole Miss perspective there wasn’t a lot of positives to take away from Tuesday’s 9-2 loss to Memphis at AutoZone Park.

Snyder, Rebs rout Austin Peay to earn sweep

Ole Miss didn’t fool around on Wednesday.

After surrendering two runs in the top of the first inning, the No. 28 Diamond Rebels responded with six runs in the bottom of the frame and never relented, topping the Austin Peay Governors 11-3 at Oxford-University Stadium to complete the two-game sweep. (March 3, 2011, Page 6)

New faces stand out for Diamond Rebels on first weekend

Getting used to new faces and making adjustments will headline most of Ole Miss’ fall ball season, which began this past week.

“It was a good weekend and a good start,” Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco said. “There’s a lot of new faces and a lot of the new guys did well.”

Included on Ole Miss’ current 38-man roster are 20 new players.

Of those players, corner infielder/outfielder Preston Overbey may have made the best first impression on Bianco. (September 20, 2010, Page 3B)
