Freeze wasting no time with state’s top talents

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Ask any of Mississippi’s top football talents if he has heard from Ole Miss’ new coach and the answer was the same more often than not.

Mackey, Scott suspended for game with No. 1 LSU

Houston Nutt can’t catch a break.

Following Tuesday’s practice, the outgoing Ole Miss football coach confirmed that junior quarterback Randall Mackey, sophomore running back Jeff Scott and sophomore receiver Korvic Neat have been suspended for the LSU game on Saturday for violating team rules.

Nutt said there’s also a chance the trio could miss the Egg Bowl at Mississippi State next weekend. (November 16, 2011, Page 6)

Recruits waiting to see who is hired next

It’s no stretch to expect that the Ole Miss football team’s 2012 signing class will look much different than its current verbal commitment list that features 12 names.

Rebels get commitment from Missouri TE

On June 4 Austin Ray trekked south from Columbia, Mo., to Oxford to participate in one of Ole Miss’ football camps.

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound tight end impressed the coaching staff enough to garner his first offer from a FBS program.
