For six innings Monday night, the Oxford Lady Chargers led the Water Valley Lady Blue Devils 2-0 and seemed poised to win their first home game of the season. Lady Chargers have new energy after wins
Oxford softball coach Lauren Hill allowed her Lady Chargers a chance to rest and refocus on the next phase of the MHSAA’s Class 5A playoffs Monday. If it was up to the Lady Chargers, they would have played their first game with McComb instead of waiting until Thursday.
There is a new level of enthusiasm at OHS in regards to softball thanks to a series sweep of Starkville over the weekend. The Lady Chargers earned a 6-5 win on the road last Friday before returning home to beat SHS 7-4.
Hill said the two wins really energized a group that is still learning how to compete at this new level. (April 24, 2012, Page 9)
